Baby Lucas

Okay. This one is a bit different! This little boy is something special to me. To start I will have to go way way back!

I met this sweet mama, Sarah, way back when we were twelve. She moved in across the street, and we became instant friends. The amount of sleepovers spent with Sarah, or our annual trip to Vancouver with her dad, the family dinners that I would be invited too (actually, I still take my entire family over on Christmas day for a visit!) We are very close! So that alone made me SO excited to meet my little nephew. BUT the connection goes even deeper! Lucas's dad, Sarah's fiancé, Matt. Now I may not have known Matt for quite that long... but my husband has! That's right, Matt is my husbands best friend! So I've known, and been close to him, for over 8 years now!

Matt and Sarah knew each other a bit in high school, but never got close, until they started seeing more of each other, yknow, thanks to me and Mac (You're welcome!) The sparks grew, and they became two peas in a pod, weathering a long distance relationship while Sarah finished school on the mainland, and Matt worked on the island. Once that was all done they decided it was time to move back home to CR, a decision I am so so thankful for everyday!

And a decision I am even more thankful for? Deciding to have Lucas. Covid threw a major wrench in their 2020 wedding plans, but they decided they weren't going to put their lives on hold for everything. So they brought Lukey into the world!

Now, as if ALL THAT wasn't enough, Lucas, who wasn't due until mid March, decided that NOPE, he needed to come a little early! Why? So he could share his birthday with his cousin! My daughter! Grainger and Lucas are exactly one year apart, little birthday buddies. My heart! I love it! Look at them!

This image took a bit of extra work, due to covid, we didnt want to get the kids together, so I composited this special image together out of a solo shot of each of them. I knew we needed this portrait of our littles together.

So anyway, These images mean about as much to me as they do to this sweet family. I love each of these people with my whole heart, and I am so honoured to have been able to capture these sweet moments for them to cherish forever. Check them out!
